Getting Handled by Smart's Customer Care

WHAT THAT MEANS TO ME: ALL of Smart Subscribers are supposed to have grabbed hold copies of your print ads during your promo period.
THE TRUTH ABOUT THAT IN MY POINT OF VIEW: Not all Smart Subscribers read or can afford to read newspapers to read your print ads. If that is not the case, millions of copies of newspapers would be sold.
QUESTIONS: Is that your only creative and SMART way to communicate to your subscribers about your PERTINENT information on the use of unlimited text? What if I'm living in a place where no print ads are readily available? Would you fault me for not being able to read your print ads? If you could afford to send your endless promos freely into our cellphones, why keep yourself from communicating with us a simple guideline on the mechanics of your offer?

QUESTIONS: Have you actually included a big number of subscribers to weigh in the merits of your promo to consider it is meaningful and practical and reasonable? Since when did you let millions of people like me feel part of you system in determining what is meaningful and practical and reasonable? Am i truly looked upon as a stakeholder in your system rather than treated as a dumb subscriber?

THE TRUTH ABOUT THAT IN MY POINT OF VIEW: It seemed to me that most Smart subscribers have all the opportunities in the world to do nothing but to text each other endlessly and therefore help build the country towards more economic productivity.
QUESTIONS: How can you help me not get an impression that you are out to build a base of subscribers with nothing left in the world to do but waste time at this time? Do you really think P60 for four days is a minimal cost to most of your subscribers? Certainly it would benefit only idle people who are not busy doing anything productive? And the only way I could benefit is if all my clients in business are all smart users but then you are beginning to open my eyes that most serious, business-minded, and productive are probably not Smart subscribers, am I wrong?

WHAT THAT MEANS TO ME: You have concerned groups within SMART that knows what to do to handle people like me in order not cause those in the highers ups of Smart hierarchy get bothered with anything viewed from below (from subscribers like me).
THE TRUTH ABOUT THAT IN MY POINT OF VIEW: Customer Care people will do anything to keep things to themselves in order to keep things in control by treating everyone like me as a nuisance because they want the higher-ups hear no voices coming from below.
QUESTIONS: Remember 911? At the time the America felt her economy getting stronger was the time she got into trouble. Would you Customer Care people stop thinking you can always keep handle everything? You know that 25/8 is actually 60/4, why not call spade a spade?

What's that? Thanking me for what? If not for the Sun cellular's 24/7 scaring the hell out of you for losing a big slice of your subscribers, you would not come out with a copycat marketing scheme.
Again, you last reply goes to show what kind of stupid customer care handlers you have there.You don't even care to know what exactly my concern was. What 25/8 kind of bull are you talking about? I had 60 pesos invested in wanting to explore for the first time unlimited texting and I had full trust that I could just do that. Until it came clearer that you only intend to keep me locked on to texting just fellow smart subscribers. Anyone I text differently would lead me nothing of what I invested. Kaya nga sana naman pag-aralan nyo namang ipaliwanag kung saan merong reality ng vision-mission nyo to help Filipino get really "connected." Parang hindi nyo pala clearly alam ang pinapaniwalaan nyo eh.

Kakapagod talaga to the max. But I'm so pleased with the way things are moving. For the past 15 days doing my road show presentations, parang July has been one of my busiest months this year. At hindi pa pala tapos. Halfway pa lang pala ako. [Gotta breath innnnnnn-nah....whooooooof, and breath out...wheeeeeeesh.] Thanks for the new life.
So, what one and important thing must I blog here. Ahhhh...blank...aha...yah...still blank. My brain hurts when I try to think! I really don't have a brain, you see. I know that coz I don't feel any pain now.
Ok, game.
As I go about in the countrysides exploring some communities and their "non-performing assets"--possible resources people do not realize they own or have no strong knowledge how to explore, I feel like I'm racing hard with Father time hoping to beat big businesses before they jump in and take away what should be for small people's development and progress. God, don't let the giants snatch the gems your little ones rightfully own.

So what else can you tell me what possible reason remains in a country where most of her citizens wish to change their citizenship if they could? Nararamdaman ko na maraming ang gusto na talagang "mag-resign" na maging Filipino! At ano nga ba kaya talaga ang magandang lugar na pwedeng ipalit sa Pilipinas at angkop talaga para sa mga Pinoy? And in the end kaya, pag tayo-tayo pa rin ang nagsama-sama, will life get better for all of us? Tsk. I doubt. Kaya nga it would be impossible for us to win professional international team sports competion dahil we are not a team country. Magaling tayo sa kanya-kanya. Or solo-solo. Pero kelan kaya pwede akong umasa na may malapit na parating na tagumpay at makikilala tayo internationally na mga team players din pala. Probably before meron din naman siguro team achievements. Pagtuunan din natin kasi ng pansin na sa oras na may mga umaangking sila ang tunay na lider at nakakapagsabing alam na alam na nila kung ano ang dapat na gawin para raw sa "kapakanan ng taongbayan", mabuti yata patayin na lang natin agad and radyo at tv o panoorin na lang natin ang butiki sa kisame at pakinggan ang sinasabi nila sa ating mga Pinoys: tsk! tsk tsk!
Kung kapakanan ng taong bayan ang tunay na isinusulong ng bawat namumuno o gustong mamuno e bakit kaya sila patuloy na humuhukay ng napakalalim na hukay at gustong ibaon ng buhay ang kapakanan ng Pilipinas? Ano ba ang lecheng kapakanan na sinasabi nilang yan? Ang mapalitan lang ba ang pamunuan ang dapat na gawin para tayong lahat ay umunlad?
Umasa na tayo dati ng maraming beses na sa ganoong paraan ng pagpapalit ng pamunuan natin matitikman ang sarap ng kalayaan. Pero hanggang ngayon bigo tayo. Wala kasi tunay na pamunuan ang may puso para sa kapakanan ng tao. At kahit may puso man, ang buong bansa ay maraming galis sa katawan na kamot na lang ng kamot ng kanyang malagkit na balat sa katutunganga buong maghapon! Wala naman talagang maraming tao ang gustong gumawa o maging bahagi ng pagsulong ng kapakanan ng taongbayan.
At sa palagay ko pa rin ang pinakadelikadong tao sa panahon natin ngayon ay ang mga tinaguriang mga technocrats at specialists na maiingay at gustong maging mga dios na magpapatakbo sa buhay antin bilang bansa. Sila ang mga salot sa ating panahon na pinapaniwala tayo ng lubos ng walang pag-aalinlangan. Mga demigods na pinuputakte lagi para pagkakitaan ng media upang sakupin ang utak nating mga Pilipinong walang matibay na pag-iisip ng kung ano ang mas makakabuti sa sarili. Sila ang mga senador, artista, gabinete, tongressmen, meyor, etc, etc. Wala naman kasi silang iniisip kundi ang kapakanan lang talaga nila.
Nasasabi ko lang ang mga ganitong bagay sa sarili ko dahil ako ay naniniwala na when we humans of today think we are so good, so sure, so certain at doing what we are doing, we are really bound towards destruction.

FINALLY, the main point of my blog today is : Kung meron akong gustong sisihin sa kung bakit nakalugmok pa rin ang ating bansa ngayon ay wala ng iba kundi sila Tito, Vic and Joey. Isama mo na dyan si Wawa-Willy! At baket? Dahil sila at ang mga kampon nila sa malalaking tv network ang umaagaw sa milyong-milyong oras ng Pilipino upang hindi maging mga produktibong mga mamamayan.
Sa ibang bansa--halimbawa muli sa Alemanya, Sweden, Norway at iba pa--ay ginagamit ang mahahalagang oras nila sa paghubog ng kanilang kaisipan tungo sa kung paano sila matututong mabuhay ng may dagdag-kaalaman, dagdag na pagkakakitaan, dagdag na karangalan, at sigasig sa pagsalubong sa hamon ng buhay.
Bakit hindi natin sila tularan. Ibangon natin ang ating dangal. OO nga po, Tita Susan, pero tell that first to the marines! Hindi yata kase pwede ang mga taga-showbiz na kagaya mo ang nakakaalam kung paano gawin ang pagbabangon na yun. Sarili nyo kase di nyo alam kung anong dangal na bunga meron. Pwede po ba tignan nyo sarili nyo. Sana makaya po nyo tignan para naman baka sakali hindi na laging buntisan at magpabuntis ang alam gawin ng mga taga-showbiz. Carry nyo ba?
Ganumpaman, hangad ko sana na magbago na nga tayong lahat. Sana more and more of us would really live the life and that at the end of each day, we truly did more good than harm.

The Secret Place of the Zeolite Mountains
After I buried my dad Sunday June 26th, I found myself in this far flung place hundreds and hundreds of miles away from home .
At last, I found what i was looking for: Zeolites! Probably the world's largest deposit.
Above I am actually stepping on a cliff that's made of wonders and magic and could possibly change the future of the whole country and maybe the planet!
I also found amazing mountains with great quality and quantity of:
iron ore
manganese
feldspar
bentonite
quartz
red and white clay
and gold!
I hope I could get the right people to finance my explorations to develop these finds.
Just five more million bucks and the ball should start rolling.
Pray, pray, pray!

hear, hear. i think meron din namang mga programs na ganon...marami-rami rin ata yung mga NGOs, both local and int'l, na gumagawa ng mga ganyang bagay sa mga communities, both rural and urban. from what i've heard, i'm pretty sure usually ang kulang lang talaga sa mga ganong efforts is that, mainly, (1) hindi sila organized among themselves, so minsan hindi nagiging efficient ang pagse-setup ng programs at nasasayang minsan ang resources; and (2) kulang ng people with the skills and experience necessary. baka pwede kang makapaghanap ng mapaparaan dito? since interesado ka pa naman at lahat. :)

Yeah, that's very true. Marami ang NGOs na hindi talaga designed to do community development initiatives na pilit na pilit ang programs nila. Kaya karamihan puro "social welfare" na lang o tipong magbibigay na lang ng short-term relief. Okay lang yun. Pero this is the key-word: long-term.
Community organizing is a long-term task. Dapat talaga we have to count the cost. Ready tayo to embark on something na kahit might lead to a lot of failures. Pero na-process ko na yun at hindi na ako afraid to fail. Kase I know I never fail if I learn from difficulties.
Ang isa lang na practice na I try to observe is to do an"immersion" first in a target community. That means, kailangan ko munang maintindihan mabuti ang mga worldviews ng mga tao bago ako magtatalak ng mga programa. Dito madalas kase sumasabit ang mga maraming NGOs. Nasama na rin ako sa mga approaches na kala mo kung sinong outsider ka na mandidikta sa kung ano ang dapat talagang gawin sa mga tao.
Kaya it took me a great deal of help to learn about Participatory Learning Approaches in doing community developments.
Right now, the most enjoyable part of community organizing, I believe, is when I see each person empowered enough to be involved in the decisionmaking. And when a good facilitation is observed, talaga namang excited lahat na m,agparticipate sa programs.
All in all pa rin ang paniwala ko na God has equipped all of us with such a creativity to embark on something without necessarily covering all the bases. Kase nga wala naman talagang akong makitang isang Masters in its truest sense ng isang community. At kahit na meron akong MA in Community Development, it really doesn't mean any thing.
I may present good ideas or a well-studied programs but still its all up for the people to find their readiness in embracing the ideas.
I have learned early that life is an on-going process and we never arrive or put people and the community in a box and then treat them as a "laboratory." I hate putting people in the box now. Dati kala mo kung sino akong magaleng. Pero ngayon, each person complements another person and then they all complement the whole community.
When I realized about that hindi na ako natatakot harapin ang differences ng mga opinions kase panalo talaga pag nadala mo ang mga tao sa isang peacemaking process na ang initial goal is para maintindihan nila na kailangan pa rin nila ang mga taong kahit kakaiba ang pananaw sa kanila para umunlad.
I don't know how to elaborate more, pero I should quit muna here while I'm ahead:)

I have met and known numerous uneducated/unschooled people who are actually more intelligent than those who have gone through colleges or universities. At meron akong alam na nagtapos ng matataas na kurso na walang alam gawin at sabihin kundi puro kahangalan at kamangmangan.
Sana, manatili tayo naka-ugnay sa kung ano ang dapat na mas mahalaga para tayo ay makahanap ng mas makabuluhang pagbubuo ng ating sarili sa ating komunidad at hindi maging ahente ng pagwawasak nito.

Nais ko sanang intindihin kung ano na nga ba ang idinudulot ng karunungan sa ating mga kabataan habang sila ay nasa pangangalaga ng ating sistema ng edukasyon. Matagal na akong nakumbinse nuon pa mang ako ay nasa unibersidad pa bilang isang mag-aaral na "College is really a waste of time and money." Wala naman kasing naging makabuluhang kontribusyon ang mga tinapos ng mga kabataan sa kanilang natamong kaalaman. Hanggang ngayon ay naghihirap pa rin ang ating bansa dahil hindi na rin naging epektibo ang pamamahala ng mga "marurunong" na nauna na sa atin.
Naghahalong awa at inis ang nararamdaman ko sa napakaraming estudyante ngayon ang umaasang sila ay mas magiging ganap na mahalagang tao kung sila ay nakakapag-college sa Pilipinas. Kung alam lang nila, NO COMPETITION tayo sa ibang colleges and universities abroad.
Pero kung maka-asta kala mo big time na--yun din kasi ang akala ko noong may Masters na rin ako.
Kahit nga ang ate ko na kahit nagtapos sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas ay kailangan pang kumuha ng karagdagang edukasyon sa Europa dahil katumbas lang daw ng "second year" college ang kaalaman natin kumpara sa kanila. May mga Aleman pa nga akong kaibigan na hindi pa nakakadama ng kumpiyansa sa kanilang kaalaman hanggat wala silang PhD! Yan din kasi ang minsang pahayag sa akin ni Dr. Thorsten Grahn. Dahil nga kase sa tindi ng kompetisyon sa kanila.
Samantalang sa ibang bansa naman, gaya halimbawa ng Hapon, ay mas pinahahalagahan ang iyong natamong kaalaman kahit ikaw ay wala pang diploma. Ang tanong kase sa kanila ay kung ano ang alam mong gawin sa nalalaman mo kahit na high school ka palang.
Marami tuloy sa kanila ang ganadong mag-imbento ng kung anu-ano. Imagine, kada taon ay mahigit limanlibo ang napapalista sa patent office nila. Samantalang tayo ay wala pang pitumpo ang napapa-patent o nai-imbentong produkto.
Kaya talagang sa kankungan tayo ngayon pupulutin dahil puro na lang porma.Porma porma porma! Pag niyayaya ako [i mean, pag nili-libre pala] ako na mag-golf lagi ang sinasabi ko sa mga kalaro ko, "If you cant perform, just form! And if you can not play, just display!" Hayun, pa-swing-swing na lang kala mo feeling Ernie Els.

At kahit na Atenista ka o taga-PUP, wala namang guarantee na ang napulot mong kaalaman ay sapat na sapat. You still need to keep updating yourself in the "school of life" if you want to survive. Otherwise, wala ka rin naman talagang maraming alam kagaya ko. Mas tinatamaan pa nga ako ng mga alam ng mga batang namumulot ng basura sa Payatas kung paano mamuhay ng parehas kung kayat hindi ako ganap na epektibo para hikayatin sila na subukan linangin ang kanilang talento sa edukasyon. May mga nagtapos kasi sa hanay nila at yun din ang mga nag-aapi sa kanila ngayon. Sumagi tuloy sa akin ang isinulat ng nasirang Fr. Niall O'Brien at Paulo Freire--ang mga idolo ko na sumusuri sa pagiging oppressor din ng mga dating oppressed.
Samantala, sabi nga sa akin ng kabigan kong kabataan na si Rico Villanueva na nasa Cambridge University ngayon nagtuturo ay halos wala ng kwenta ang natutunan mo pagkatapos lang ng tatlong buwan!
Dahil nga sa dami ng katanungan at bilis ng pag-ikot ng mundo natin ngayon, hindi na raw sapat ang kahit lima ang Masters at PhD mo.
At ang hindi alam ng marami ay nasa matinding crisis ang learning system natin ngayon kahit na sabihin mong Lasalista ka o taga-Calubaquib College ka ni Imelda Marcos, negosyo lang at pera-pera lang halos ang habol ng mga maraming institusyon, kahit sabihin mong simbahan pa ang nagpapatakbo nun .
Anywayzzz, I don't want to get more philosophical or psychological or metaphysical or transcendental, basta ang punto ko lang muna ngayon ay dapat tayong lumingon sa dapat na kabutihan na nais idulot ng edukasyon, otherwise, college is really a waste of time and money. Dahil wala rin talaga tayong sapat na nakuhang karunungan na angkop sa tunay na katayuan na ating bansa (aanhin mo maging mechanical engineer kung sa Jollibee ka lang pala mag-aaply as crew; or you got your MA in Industrial Psychology from Ateneo tapos nagpi-pyramyding ka lang pala ngayon--sorry, bechay, anyabang mo na ngayon big time ka na yung yaya mong three years na sayo ampayat-payat naman ikaw ga-barko na ang nalunok mo at hanggang one-five lang ang pa-sweldo mo. Grrr. Tapos di mo na makita ang tama dahil binulag ka na ng dios mong pera at kesyo you deserve to own the world? More grrr....)
Tunay na walang kwenta ang edukasyon kung tayo ay manliliit at manlalamang ng ating mga kapwa. Hndi tayo tunay na makakatulong sa ating lipunan kung mamumuhay lagi ng HINDI PAREHAS--nagbabalak lagi kung paano makakapagnakaw ng daang-daang milyon sa ating natamong kaalaman. O basta na lang mambabaril ng kapwa mo sa Glorietta! Saan kaya natuto ang taong yun ng astang ganun?
